Train for the health of it ... Race for the fun of it!

Message From the President - December 2017

“It’s the most wonderful time of the Year”!

I have to agree! December is always full of surprises. Whether it’s the weather or the Season, December has something for everyone. Ya gotta love it. December offers many traditional 5k events, such as the local Reindeer Run and Christmas Mile/5k and many not so traditional trail runs throughout the area. Your Board will be presenting the 18th annual “Run for the Ranch” December 30th. Be sure to participate. This race ends the 2017 Double Down and begins the 417 challenge. Volunteers are eligible for the additional swag. You will need to give us your jacket size at packet pickup or at the event tent on race day. Jackets are available to try on. No jacket size will promote our best guess for you.

OMRR will host the annual Christmas party at Lincoln Hall on the OTC Campus, December 5th. The main course will be catered with desserts on you. Expect a few surprises and a great time as we continue the tradition.

Many of our friends have been nominated for positions on your board. The January “Running Briefs” will introduce our nominees and the election is held at the annual meeting January 13th. The annual meeting format will be changing a bit to expedite the awards process. Attend, eat, vote, pick up your award and enjoy visiting with your friends.

With 2017 almost behind us, 2018 is looking to be a remarkable OMRR year. Exciting changes to ROTY and Triple crown are soon to be announced, a new website presence is developing, OMRR trip is scheduled in April, we are discussing additional prizes for the 417 challenge, Frisco will hold the 10th anniversary, and much more to add value to your OMRR membership.

Many Thanks to all who have helped OMRR have a successful 2017.

Enjoy your “Running Briefs”!

Wishing you the best Christmas Ever!

See you out there!
